Saturday Longer/Faster Ride

ABC Riders,

Our Saturday Longer / Faster ride will be starting at Silver Creek Park and heading to Dalton and Orrville this week.

This week we have two options, both starting at Silver Creek Park(beach parking lot).  The first option is 43 miles, 1,685 ft.  The second option is 57 miles and 2,426ft.  The routes start together and then split after Dalton, somewhere around mile 17.  Big thanks to Randy and Bill for the routes this week!

Please be prepared to start this ride at 10:00AM.

Weather - currently the forecast is for rain Friday night. Ride will be cancelled if it rains.  Temperature 40s to 50s

There are many changes to our approach to our club rides due to the pandemic.  Please read the attached document and be prepared to abide by and support these new rules.  The health and safety of our riders is our primary objective.

A few callouts:
  • We will not be passing out or sharing materials during the ride.  This includes cue sheets.  Please bring to the ride some means of following the route, either your bike computer or a printout of the cue sheet. 
  • And we will not be stopping as a group at any time for an organized food stop.  This is another CoViD thing.  To be safe, bring any hydration / nutrition you anticipate needing.  If needed, we can stop at a convenience store or gas station to get additional supplies.

And now the pre-pandemic fine print: Helmets are required on all ABC rides.  Please no use of ear buds, or cell phones while riding.  Recommend use of rear view mirrors..  By law (and for your safety) a headlight, rear reflector and tail light is required 30 minutes prior to sunset, and recommended at all times for additional safety.  Please obey all traffic laws.  Safety is everyone’s responsibility.  Rides are for members and first time guests.  See Akronbike.org for more information or to become a member.   Come Ride With Us and Enjoy The Ride.
